We´ve seen multiple topics about the Windows Store app Netflix giving error 0x80070057 and decided to combine all solutions into this one article. We however soon found out that there´s only one solution which works in some cases. A special thanks to Hirot21 on Microsoft Answers for sharing this solution.
[symple_box color=”yellow” fade_in=”false” float=”center” text_align=”left” width=””]This article is for the August 2015 problem with the installation of the Netflix App trough the Windows Store. [/symple_box]The solution to this problem is rather easy. The Netflix app needs the VCLibs120 and the PlayReadyClient2 DLLs which are automatically installed by the store when installing Netflix. However the store seems to think it also needs the VCLibs120 and PlayReadyClient (older versions)
This problem can be solved easily for the time beign by just downloading an app that installs those two DLLs.
- Open the Windows Store App
- Search for Flixster
- Install the App Flixster
- Wait for the installation to finish
- Then search for Netflix
- Install Netflix
We had the same problem with Netflix on of our own virtual machines. So we can’t be sure this solution works for everybody we did wanted to share it with you all.
We hope this solution helped you.
