Apps can access your Windows calendar in Windows 10 if you allow this when they ask for it. But what if you mistakenly click on approve / yes and want to revoke the access to your calendar for an app in Windows 10? No worries! It’s easy to revoke or even grant access to your calendar in Windows 10.

Who uses calendar access in Windows 10? For example, the smart assistance of Windows 10 does. Cortana can use this access to show you which appointments you have today but also show calendar results in your search results.

1. Open Windows 10 Settings. You can do this by clicking on the start icon and then on the cogwheel or right-click the Windows icon and choose Settings.

2. Once there, click on Privacy

3. In the left menu pane click on Calendar.

4. Under “choose which apps can access your Calendar” you can choose which apps can access your calendar and there you can revoke or grant access. To revoke access simply turn off the slider and to grant access simply turn on the slider. It’s that easy!

As you can see in the image above I’ve decided to turn off the access for Cortana to my calendar. I don’t want the assistance of the smart assistance in Windows 10.
