Learning: What is csrss.exe?

CSRSS.EXE

Many users sometimes find some weird processes in their task manager and one of those is Client Server Runtime Process. Csrss.exe is one of the so called system processes this means it’s one of the processes which makes Windows work like it does.

What is Csrss.exe?

The [symple_highlight color=”blue”] Windows Subsystem[/symple_highlight] also known in task manager as  [symple_highlight color=”blue”] csrss.exe[/symple_highlight], csrss.exe is short for Client Server Runtime Subsystem and is incredibly important for Windows to operate .It is also responsible for console windows, creating and/or deleting threads, and some parts of the 16-bit virtual MS-DOS environment.

Why can’t I end the process in task manager?

End Csrss.exe

As said above Windows uses this process to create console windows, creating and deleting threads and some parts of the MS-Dos environment. Simply said, Windows cannot run without Csrss.exe.

You can end this task but Windows will immediately stop working and shut down.
