How-to Resize Harddisk without Losing Data

If you’re not happy with your partition, and you wish to Re-size your partitions or the entire harddisk then these steps will help you trough the process of achieving this.

Re-sizing the Partition

1: Right click on This Pc and select manage

2: Now In Device manager you will find a Storage/Disk management

3: In Disk Management  select the Drive which you want to Shrink or Expand

( NOTE: in shrinking process , have must have enough unallocated space available on the current partition of Drive, and if you want to Expand make sure  you has enough unallocated space available )

Extending the Volume

4. Now for Expand the space of partition right-click on the partition and select Extend volume.

5: Follow the ‘Extend Volume Wizard and type in the amount of space you would like to increase the volume by Select the amount of space in MB.  and Click on Next

 

Shrinking the volume

4: If you Want to Shrink the partition, right-click on partition and select shrink volume

5: If you have enough space, a dialog box will appear where you will be able to see the shrink space available. Enter the amount of space to shrink and hit the Shrink button.
