In this article we will take a look at the error message; “Windows can’t find one of the files in this theme. Do you still want to save the theme?”. I have been experiencing this error myself and in this article we will show you how to solve this error
Check your theme files
Solving this error message is quite easy and doesn’t require many complex steps. Follow the steps below and if all goes good for you the problem should go away.
1. Right-click your desktop and choose Personalize
2. Once the Settings screens opens you will see the Background page, in the left menu pane click on Themes
3. Choose a theme from the selection that Windows by default offers; for example Windows 10 with 5 images as shown below.
4. You will see your background change and perhaps your colors as well. This is normal. The problem, however, should now be fixed and you should no longer receive ” Windows can’t find one of the files in this theme. Do you still want to save the theme?”. If you want to change your background back to the old one you had simply go to Background and pick the background you had before.
How did this happen?
We don’t know for sure but we believe the synchronization of themes between devices you have might have gone wrong and synced some bad settings causing this issue. As you can see it’s easily solved and you to restore your old preferences like a personalized background is really easy after doing the above steps.
