2. Choose the correct version for your system. If you’re running Windows 8 on 64 bits then you need Windows8-RT-KB917607-x64.msu, if you are running Windows 8 on 32 bits then you need Windows8-RT-KB917607-x86.msu. If you’re not sure which you have then press the Windows + R key and type MSinfo32 and hit enter, and look at System Type

3. Install the downloaded update

After the installation is completed you should be able to read .hlp files again on your system.
