How to determine who last modified an Excel file

1. Locate the file you want to check, then open it.

2. Once Microsoft Excel has started click on File

3. Once in File, click on Info.

You can now see Last Modified By which shows you the name of the person who last edited the file. Under Related Dates, you can also see when it was last modified.

2. How to determine who last modified an Excel file without using Microsoft Excel

If you want to determine who last modified a Microsoft Excel file without opening it, then this is the method you should use.

1. Locate the file you want to check, then right-click it and choose Properties

2. Then once properties opened, click on Details

3. Under Origin find Last Saved By
