How to prevent screen turning off in Windows 10

Windows by default uses power plans, these power plans have settings that try to optimize your battery and normal power consumption as good as possible. Therefor after a couple of minutes, your laptop, tablet and so on screen will automatically turn off to save energy, since your screen is one of the biggest consumers this is a good idea.

However in some cases you don’t want this to happen. In this tutorial I will show you how to prevent the screen turning off in Windows 10 and Windows 8.

1. Right-click or tap and hold the Windows Start Button. (You can also press the Windows and X key at the same time)

2. Then select Power Options

3. In the left pane click on “Choose when to turn off the display”

4. You can now choose when you want the display to turn off. If you want the display / screen to never turn off then select Forever.
