The main issue that causes this is that you have Hyper-V activated on your system which is conflicting with VirtualBox it’s virtualization options. Therefor in this tutorial we will show you how to disable Hyper-V on your system to get VirtualBox working.

How to disable / uninstall Hyper-V on Windows 10.

The following steps are for Windows 10 however the steps are the same for Windows 7 and later, the main difference is the user interface of Windows 10.

  1. Begin by opening your Start Menu and type Features, then choose for Turn Windows Features On or Off as shown in the picture below.

2. Wait for the settings to initialize. once it’s done loading scroll in the list till you find Hyper-V

3. Make sure the checkbox before Hyper-V is disabled and then click on OK.

Once you’ve followed the steps above reboot your device and wait for Windows to change it’s settings. This could take some time.

After Windows has rebooted you can retry to start the Virtual machine in VirtualBox and it should now work fine.
